Based at Oregon State University, Sea Grant is part of a nationwide network of Sea Grant College Programs, organized under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to conduct research, education and public outreach to help people understand, responsibly use, and conserve ocean and coastal resources. We also manage the visitor center atOSU’s Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, Oregon, where we link current marine research to people’s curiosity about the sea.
