Assignment:

Oregon Institute of Marine Biology

Education:

Rachel will graduate from the University of Oregon in December 2016 with a degree in Marine Biology.

Professional and Research Interests:

"I've lived in group homes and foster homes, always focusing on my education. I graduated high school at 16 and shortly after moved to Oregon to live with my sister. After a couple years of minimum wage working I decided to return to college and realize my dream to become a marine biologist. Since going to school at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology I have had the great honor of working at their new aquarium, which has furthered my dream of working at a large aquarium someday. My ultimate goal is to work at either Monterrey Bay Aquarium or the California Academy of Science. If time allows I would also love to do life history and behavioral studies with wolf eels."
