Program - OSG Summer Scholars

Assignment - As a 2017 Summer Scholar, Allie will be working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to identify the causes and impacts of estuary acidification.

Education - Allie graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in June 2017 with a B.S. in Environmental Science and two minors in Conservation Biology and Geography/Environmental Studies.

Professional and research interests - Allie plans to combine her background in scientific research and passion for conservation to improve our understanding of the environment and how it is impacted by human activity. Her goal is to conduct significant research which will impact environmental management policies and contribute to conservation methods. After several years of working in the field, she plans to attend graduate school to pursue a PhD in Marine Biology and ultimately return home to Maryland to contribute to improving the Chesapeake Bay.
