Communications Support Request Form

Please use this form to describe any activity that is likely to require more than a few hours of Sea Grant Communications staff time. That includes print, Web or video projects, writing/editing assistance, display or exhibit materials and conference or event support. (You generally do not need to submit a form for a news release, photograph or other minor request, but be sure to give us advance warning so we can do a good job.)

Complete the form as fully as possible. Hitting "send" will transmit the form to Managing Editor Rick Cooper.

We will do our best to respond within five days. At that time we will tell you:

  • We can do the work, and need to discuss scheduling and details with you
  • We need more information to make a decision.
  • We are unable to do this project for you. If so, we'll suggest other options.

We urge you to plan ahead for communications activities. We are always glad to consult with you - no form required - to help you plan and brainstorm. Contact Rick Cooper for print projects, Pat Kight for Web projects, Patricia Andersson for graphic design or Joe Cone (for video projects and all large-scale or long-term communication activities.

Give your project a brief, descriptive name (e.g., tsunami publication, tuna conference, safety video)

If this work is connected with a Sea Grant-funded research, outreach or communications project, please add the project number here.

Briefly describe the purpose of the product or service you would like from us. How will you be involved?

Describe your audience: Who? Where? How many? How do you know they need this product? Be specific.

Describe the outcomes you expect this product to help you achieve from your audience. What do you expect to happen as a result of this project?

How will you/we evaluate whether you have achieved the desired outcomes?

What priority do you place on this project, relative to other communications requests you expect to have during the coming year?

When do you want our work to begin?

Fill in only if you have a firm deadline for completion of this work.

What funds, if any, are available from you or your partners for this work?

Who are your partners (if any) and what roles will they play? For instance, will they provide and/or review content? Buy into a product run? Assist in distribution?

Who will provide content (text, images, etc?). Please be specific. For Web projects, who will be responsible for continuous review and updating as required?

What else do we need to know about this project?
