Oregon Sea Grant Email Lists
Oregon Sea Grant maintains several e-mail lists on OSU's mailman server; most are intended for the use of specific internal groups, but a few are open to the public.
To avoid spam and malicious mail, our lists are availlable only by subscription, and all subscription requests must be approved by a list administrator.
Running lists from the campus server, rather than individual e-mail boxes, makes it easier for subscribers to engage in fruitful discussions - or to eliminate discussion entirely (for instance, creating distribution-only lists for electronic newsletters or event registrations.)
Faculty or staff who would like to set up a new list for Sea Grant-related purposes may contact Pat Kight at Sea Grant Communications to find out more.
(Note: If you use strong email spam filtering, you may need to add lists.oregonstate.edu to your approved senders/whitelist in order to receive messages via the list server.)
To manage your own subscription to a Sea Grant list, or to find and subscribe to other lists, visit: lists.oregonstate.edu
Public lists (open to subscription by request)
These are announcement-only lists, not discussion lists; subscribers will receive periodic announcements but may not post to the lists. They are closely monitored to prevent spam. You may unsubscribe at any time, and we do not share our lists with anyone else.

Each Extension faculty member has his/her own email list for the purpose of circulating periodic program activity reports. Individual lists funnel messages through a master list that includes all SGE faculty, the Sea Grant management team and others within the program who have expressed interest in seeing your reports. Faculty may ask the administrator to add others - academic deans and department heads, for instance - to their personal lists; if you prefer, you can be set up as co-administrator of your own list.
Special-purpose lists
New lists can be set up quickly for short- or long-term purposes. Contact Pat Kight for details and assistance.
