Visit one of the locations listed below to purchase your new copy of Oregon Coast Quest book.
Here is a partial list of Quest descriptions:
- Crowley Creek Quest -- Created by Career Tech High School students, this Quest provides an opportunity to learn about the ecology and history of a variety of habitats near Knight Park and the scenic Salmon River estuary.
- Kirtsis Park Quest -- Thanks to Lincoln City Parks and Recreation for establishing this Quest, which will take you on a unique tour of Kirtsis Park and all it has to offer -- a nice variety of plants and trees, a Community Center, baseball/softball fields, and skate park.
- D River Invasive Species Quest -- How short is the D River? The answer to that is only one of the things you'll learn on this Quest, which focuses primarily on learning to recognize some of the non-native species that live in the area, their impacts and what you can do to curb the spread of invasive species.
- Head Start Forest Management Quest -- Career Tech High School students created this Quest to show how recent forest management practices have affected the woods behind Lincoln City Head Start.
- Head Start Fern Quest -- This short Quest in Lincoln City was built by a Career Tech High School student and was designed especially for younger children (but it's fun for adults, too).
- Taft Quest -- The Taft High School grounds are unique and special to students Taryn and Jordan. They created this 45-minute Quest so that others could also enjoy the grounds in a fun and interesting way.
- Big Creek Park Quest -- Learn more about the three creeks that call this city park home.
- Water, Water Everywhere Quest -- Created by students at Newport Middle School, this vigorous Quest starts behind the Newport Pool and shows you where more water can be found.
- City Center History Quest -- Discover the sometimes surprising history behind familiar buildings in Newport's city center.
- Toledo Arcadia Quest -- This Quest will only take about 30 minutes to complete -- unless you decide to stop and build a fort! Students in grades 4-7 created this Quest around the area that used to be the Arcadia Elementary School.
- Hatfield Marine Science Center Yaquina Estuary Quest -- Enjoy a spectacular 1 mile walk on the HMSC nature trail and learn about the characteristics of estuarine habitats. (This Quest is also available in Spanish; just ask at the Visitors Center!)
- Hatfield Marine Science Center Sustainability Quest -- Find out what "sustainability" is and some ways in which HMSC is striving to achieve it. Yaquina Estuary Quest -- Enjoy a spectacular 1 mile walk on the HMSC nature trail and learn about the characteristics of estuarine habitats. (This Quest is also available in Spanish; just ask at the Visitors Center!)
- South Beach State Park Quest -- Explore changing habitats behind the sand dunes by following paved and sandy trails.
- Oregon Hatchery Research Center Quest -- The 8th-grade class at Crestview Heights School created this 40-minute Quest that takes place outdoors, but there's an indoor interpretive center you may want to also visit while you're there.
- Yachats Youth and Family Activities Program (YYFAP) Habitats of Diversity Quest -- This Quest features a choice of paths and the chance to not only witness what "Yachatians" love best, but to learn what a "Yachatian" is!
... plus eight more BRAND NEW Quests!
There are now a total of 23 unique stamp imprints from each Quest to collect in the back of your book. Be the first to collect them all!
