NEWPORT - Join us at OSU's Hatfield Marine Science Center on Saturday, April 9 for Marine Science Day 2016, a chance for hands-on-learning about how ocean and coastal scientists do their work.

You'll have a chance to come behind-the-scenes to experience the research, education and outreach in marine sciences that makes this marine laboratory unique in the Pacific Northwest. Meet working scientists, tour labs and engage in family activities exploring the world of Oregon's ocean and coast, and the scientific explorations and discoveries happening there.

Activities this year include "Pumped Up For Pinnipeds," a fun-filled-dynamic presentation about sea lions and other pinnipeds aimed to fascinate our youngest visitors - and anyone who would like to learn more about these fascinating animals.

As always, admission to the HMSC Visitor Center is by donation, which gives you access to activities in our public Visitor Center as well as many of our research labs.

For more information, visit the HMSC Website.
