Based at the OSU Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, on the central Oregon coast, Oregon Sea Grant's marine education program offers classes, day-long learning events, summer camps, family programs and other opportunities for K-12 and home-schooled students and groups of all ages. Visit their website for detailed information about current and upcoming classes, day camps and other activities.
All programs are built around marine science, tied to state and national STEM standards, and offer opportunities for learning, exploration and fun. Classes take place in the HMSC Learning Labs, the HMSC Visitor Center and aquarium, or outdoors at nearby beaches, trails and forests. Together, these programs serve some 150,000 visitors and 11,000 school-aged children each year.
Through our partnership in the Oregon Coast STEM Hub, we promote integrated science, technology, engineering and math education, serving teachers, students and communities along the Oregon coast.
