Dennis Glaze is the curator of animal husbandry at the Hatfield Marine Science Center. He is also an Aquatic Animal Health/Husbandry specialist through Oregon Sea Grant, serving the ornamental fish (pet fish) industry in Oregon and the greater Pacific Northwest. He holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aquarium Science from Oregon Coast Community College. He also has completed Cornell University’s Recirculating Aquaculture Systems Short Course and the Canadian Aquaculture Institute’s Experimental Fish online training program.
Projects/Specialties: 


In addition to providing care for the HMSC Visitor Center's large collection of live fish and invertebrates (on exhibit and behind the scenes), Dennis:

  • Supervises the center's graduate student aquarists
  • Assists Dr. Tim Miller-Morgan, Oregon Sea Grant’s Extension Veterinarian for Aquatic Pets, in providing service and education to the ornamental fish industry.

He has worked on many live-animal exhibits at the HMSC Visitor Center in Newport, and was instrumental in building  the World of Wet Pets Exhibit, The Adventures of Totally Turtle exhibit, the Hospital/Quarantine Facility and research holding systems for the Ornamental Fish Health Program.
