With Oregon Sea Grant since 1983, Joe has produced in many media, including books, photographs and video, radio and podcasts. In leading Sea Grant Communications, his focus is effective science communication, which he researches, writes about and collaborates to enable. He is lead investigator on three national communications projects, and an adjunct graduate faculty member in three OSU departments: Marine Resource Management, Science and Math Education, and Public Policy.

Climate Variability and Community Resilience: Testing a National Model of State-Based Outreach, a NOAA-funded collaboration with Maine Sea Grant.
Hazard Resilient Coastal Communities: National Climate Survey, also funded by NOAA.
