Oregon Sea Grant

Kathryn Hawes serves as the point-of-contact for school and youth groups planning to visit OSU's Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport for a class or tour. She holds a BS in Forest Ecosystem Management from Iowa State University, and a Graduate Certificate from Oregon State University in Sustainable Natural Resources. Before coming to the Visitor Center, she worked as a park ranger at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area and South Beach State Park. As an HMSC museum assistant, she interpreted exhibits, gave public animal feeding presentations and worked with museum volunteers, school groups and the public.
