Use of Freezing Time Program, "Freeze"

1. Download a .zip-compressed archive containing the three files below onto a PC with an attached printer and using an operating system of Windows 2000 or earlier. All files have been virus-scanned.

Use a utility such as WinZip or pkzip to open the archive and extract the files into a single directory on your computer. Double-click on FREEZE.EXE to run the program which will use property data from the files SPECYENG.DAT or SPECYSI.DAT.

2. Download the program manual. (.pdf format, free Adobe Acrobat reader required).

You will likely experience difficulty reading results of this program when run on operating systems newer than Windows 2000. In that event, we suggest you consider two options:

a) Seek computer assistance to create a "Program Information File" that will retain and slow some of the screen-output to enable reading the results;

b) Consider use of an alternative freeze-time program, developed at the Univ. of California/Davis and available for a fee from World Food Logistics Organization (http://www.wflo.org/hq/forms/freeze.pdf).
