Oregon State University hosted an online and in-person meeting about topics related to Oregon's dunes at the Hatfield Marine Science Center on May 31, 2022. Oregon Sea Grant was one of the sponsors.

OSU's Sally Hacker, Peter Ruggiero and Steve Dundas spoke about the ecology and geomorphology of Oregon's dunes and the ecosystem services they provide. Meg Reed, the coastal shores specialist with the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development, and Kevin Herkamp, the ocean shores coordinator with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, spoke about the policy and management side of Oregon's dunes. Other presenters spoke about dune management strategies, carbon storage, plover habitat and native plant revegetation. Coastal managers and planners, scientists, engineers and policy specialists attended.
