Oregon Sea Grant is offering a variety of marine education opportunities for all ages this summer at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport.

2018 Family Day Programs

Looking for a fun afternoon with your family, interacting with sea anemones, sea urchins and sea stars? Or have you always wanted a chance to design your own remotely operated vehicle (ROV)? Be sure to check out our Family Fridays in July! These programs are geared for all ages and there is still plenty of space. Our first Family Day, “Animal Adaptations,” is just around the corner, on Friday, July 6! The two-hour class will explore coastal animals found in the estuary, rocky shores and sandy beach. Participants will interact with these coastal animals and investigate the adaptations that allow them to survive in their habitats. We are seeking more participants - register and learn more!

2018 Summer Day Camps

Due to popular demand, registration is now open for a second Habitat Hunt camp (Habitat Hunt 2) for ages 8-10, on August 6-9. Campers will explore the rocky shores, sandy beach, and Yaquina estuary habitats that make the Oregon coast unique. Discover the diversity of marine life in each habitat and the unique adaptations that help them thrive. Join us to see for yourself! Register and learn more about Habitat Hunt 2 and other summer day camp offerings at Hatfield!
