Sid is a professional aquarist and educator who manages the Aquatic Animal Teaching Lab and Hospital/Quarantine at Hatfield Marine Science Center. He designs and builds life-support systems for aquatic animals in his lab that exemplify best practices in the industry. A graduate of the Aquarium Science Program (AQS) at Oregon Coast Community College, he mentors AQS students currently enrolled in that program, is a frequent lecturer for several courses, and serves on the program's local advisory board. He also mentors veterinary students from OSU and other universities across the country who are interested in adding aquatic animals to their practices after graduation.
