Spark discussion, have fun, and practice walking an evacuation route by going on one or more of the FIVE available Tsunami Quests. Choose from Bandon, Charleston, Newport, Warrenton, and Astoria. Each location is unique and has something new to consider. Download the directions below and try them all!

Newport (60 minutes): Learn all about earthquake and tsunami safety at the coast as you follow the clues and practice evacuating to high ground. Seventh graders created this Quest at Newport Middle School and helped you make your way from the HMSC Visitor Center to "Safe Haven Hill." Download the HMSC Tsunami Quest

HMSC Nature Trail Quest

Newport (45 minutes): Explore the salt marsh and mudflat habitats of the Yaquina Bay Estuary. The trail offers beautiful views and lots of opportunities to observe birds and other estuarine inhabitants.
