Sample Quest at Hatfield Marine Science Center:
Newport (45 minutes): Explore the salt marsh and mudflat habitats of the Yaquina Bay Estuary. The trail offers beautiful views and lots of opportunities to observe birds and other estuarine inhabitants. NOTE: The HMSC Nature Trail Quest is not included in the 2025-26 Edition of The Oregon Coast Quest Book because of changes in trail signage expected to occur in the next 6-18 months. Until that time, though, this Quest works fine! Once construction begins, we will remove this 'sample' Quest from the website.
