Program - OSG Summer Scholars

Assignment - As a 2016 Summer Scholar, Claire will work with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife on their Recreational Ocean Dungeness Crab Fishery Effort and Gear Research project.

Education - Claire is a rising senior at Indiana University (IU) in Bloomington, IN. She is pursuing a B.S. in Biology, certificates in Animal Behavior and Underwater Resource Management, and a minor in Chemistry. During the Spring 2016 semester, Claire studied tropical marine ecology and conservation on the island of Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean where she conducted research on sponge ecology.

Professional and research interests - Claire’s academic and research interests include marine resource management, marine ecology, and genetics. After she graduates from IU, she hopes to attend graduate school for marine biology and work towards a career that combines marine research with communication and management.
