Program - OSG Summer Scholars

Assignment - As a 2016 Summer Scholar, Erin will work with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on their Assessing Near-Coastal Species’ Climate Vulnerability project.

Education - In May of 2016, Erin finished her junior year at the University of Washington where she is getting double major in Oceanography and Spanish. She spent the last year studying abroad in England at the University of Southampton, National Oceanography Centre.

Professional and research interests - Erin plans to go to graduate school and study either chemical oceanography or marine and environmental affairs and hopes to work as a research scientist or in environmental education and policy. She is excited to get involved with marine research at the EPA for her internship and will apply the skills she learns from the assessing near shore species climate vulnerability internship to her senior thesis project this fall and future career. Erin is a huge fan of the outdoors, and her favorite activities include backpacking, kayaking and skiing.
