Program - OSG Summer Scholars

Assignment - As a 2017 Summer Scholar, Catie will work with the Wild Rivers Coast Alliance (WRCA) and Oregon Sea Grant (OSG) in Bandon, OR. She will conduct research on coastal tour experience needs assessment, pricing, amenities, and impacts to enhance outdoor recreation and tourism in southern coastal Oregon.

Education - Catie is currently a senior at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. She is an Animal Science major concentrating in Wildlife Biology with minors in Environmental Studies and Indigenous Studies in Natural Resources. She will return to Cal Poly for her final quarter of undergraduate study in the fall of 2017.

Professional and research interests - Catie’s research interests include marine and terrestrial ecology, environmental policy, and public outreach. With a strong passion for the natural world, Catie hopes to soon pursue a graduate degree incorporating these fields of interest in order to further scientific discovery and creatively augment integrated environmental stewardship.
