Download the Free Pumpout Nav App
Oregon has 133 pieces of equipment for you to dispose your sewage at. Find one where you enjoy boating by downloading the free app Pumpout Nav. The app is free for Apple or Android. The app shows you the locations of the different types, cost, contact info of the facility, and location at the facility. You can also report an issue with the equipment and know which pieces of equipment are winterized and may be offline during the off season.
How to Use

- Unscrew the deck waste fitting and make sure your holding tank’s air vent is open.
- Uncoil the hose, taking it fully off the pedestal to prevent blockages.
- Close the nozzle by putting the ball valve in a perpendicular position.
- Turn the pump on.
- Place the nozzle in the deck waste fitting and rotate handle to start suction.
- When the tank is empty (there is no sewage visible in the sight glass), rotate handle to stop suction and angle it to the side to ‘crack the seal’ and allow any residual fluid to drain back down into holding tank.
- Turn off the pump and coil the hose back on the pedestal.

- Open the lid of the dump station.
- Turn on the basin rinse.
- Slowly pour contents of your sewage container in, taking care to not let it overflow.
- Use freshwater rinse hose to rinse sewage container and pour into dump station.
- Turn off basin rinse.
- Close lid.
- Dock at the floating restroom barge and tie up your boat.
- Use the restroom.
- Untie and enjoy your outing!
Do you use cleaning or baby wipes in your boat?
Do not toss them in your toilet.
Most are not flushable even though the packaging may say they are. When you empty your porta potty toilet or holding tank at a marina, the wipes can clog the sewage disposal equipment and pipes.
Put your used wipes in a bag and in the trash.
Together, let’s keep wipes out of our pipes.

Funding for the equipment
The Oregon State Marine Board applies for funding through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund for the installation, maintenance, and operation of pumpouts, porta-potty dump stations, and floating restrooms. These funds come from excise taxes on fishing equipment, motorboat, and small engine fuels, import duties, and interest. Marinas and boating facilities apply for funding through the Oregon State Marine Board to help with the costs of the installation and maintenance of the equipment in Oregon. More information.
