Conference and Activity Support

Oregon Sea Grant provides resources for conferences or other activities that support or promote interaction, engagement or discussion among Oregon Sea Grant (ORSG) interested parties on topic areas that align with the ORSG strategic efforts.

Award

View the full ORSG Conference & Activity Support Request Policy here.

Requests should not exceed $2,500 per event or project (including indirect costs). If the budget of your request exceeds this limit, please discuss this with the Director prior to submission (additional details under “Process” below).

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to all Oregon-based personnel and organizations. Special considerations will be given to activities that reflect the breadth of the ORSG program.

  • Does the activity advance ORSG vision and mission?
  • Will ORSG personnel (staff or grantees), and/or the coastal community benefit from the activity being supported?
  • Does the supported activity align with ORSG’s non-advocacy, neutral, third-party philosophy?

Note: Funds cannot be used to supplement activities already supported by ORSG or take the place of existing funds. Funds cannot be directly applied toward travel or other individual reimbursements.

Process

Individuals considering a request (including ORSG personnel) are required to contact the Oregon Sea Grant Director ([email protected]) to inquire about support in advance of submitting a proposal. All proposals will be reviewed by the ORSG leadership team for input on alignment with the criteria below, and with the ORSG fiscal officer for availability of funds. The Oregon Sea Grant Director makes the final decision on the proposal.

We use eSeaGrant, a Web-based tool for submitting, reviewing, updating and tracking grant program development proposals and projects. To register for the eSeaGrant system, the lead principal investigator must email a request one week prior to proposal submission. If you cannot submit using the eSeaGrant system, please contact the Oregon Sea Grant program for accommodation.

  • Contact the Oregon Sea Grant Director to discuss your proposed activity ideas and anticiapted budget before submitting a request.
  • We strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with Oregon Sea Grant’s current research projects and strategic investments, available on our website.
  • After receiving approval to apply, register for eSeaGrant at least one week prior to submission (see below for eSeaGrant details).
  • Submit your request through eSeaGrant, following the application details provided.
