Connie serves as the Oregon Sea Grant Extension Boater Outreach Coordinator and the staff co-leader for the program's Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) group.

While Connie may have a diverse background in different fields such as academia, non-profit, government, and for-profit, one thing remains the same: a passion for clean water that is safe for humans and other organisms that depend upon our waterways. The majority of Connie's career has been in the Salish Sea, but they also have experience working in the Gulf of Maine, Jamaica's north shore, and the Chesapeake Bay. For more than three years, Connie was the coordinator for Clean Marina Washington, which is a free technical assistance program for recreational marinas to work on spill prevention and spill preparedness. Connie has also worked in outreach and education and environmental justice. She believes that our shared waterways are for everyone, and access to knowledge about them should be easily obtained. Connie also is the owner and founder of Salty Science Learning, an education and outreach group that increases access to the marine environment through guided tours and social media. Connie has a BA from SUNY Potsdam, was a student in Northeastern University's Three Seas Program, has an MS from the College of William and Mary, and an MMA from the University of Washington.
