Kama Almasi is the director of the Oregon Coast STEM Hub. She was previously a STEM specialist at the Oregon Department of Education, where she worked with the statewide network of STEM hubs on computer science and math initiatives. She also spent two years in Washington, D.C., as a participant in the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship program.

 

Kama has called the Oregon coast home for more than 30 years and knows the Oregon Coast STEM Hub well. When it first formed in 2013, she served on the steering committee as the teacher representative. She later spent several years as mid-coast coordinator for the hub. She was also a high school and middle school science and math teacher in the Lincoln County School District.
