Take your learning to action and guide your students to engage your community. There are several directions you might take your students:

Social Sciences and Math: Student-conducted survey combined with a community awareness campaign.

From STEM To STEAM: We suggest the use of art by focusing on the Control That Alien Mobile and Stone Soup lessons, followed by a public exhibition of student work.

Getting the Word Out: Students design "Most Unwanted" posters, then brainstorm the best way to share them for the greatest effect.

Conservation and Restoration: Students research a local invasive for "most unwanted poster" then partner with a local conservation group to address invasives in their local area.

Engaging Your Community: Use the WISE Watershed Stewardship lesson plan to guide your students through an evaluation of watershed values, needs and threats, then contact a community partner to plan a stewardship project.
