Key features: Brown and white speckled, tan topside coloration, seven gill slits, broad & rounded nose, only one dorsal fin
Fun fact: Broadnose sevengill sharks are considered apex predators, equivalent to white sharks and tiger sharks, and frequent bays across the West coast.

Sevengill sharks are often sighted close inshore, in bays, and estuaries. Larger individuals can have ranges that include deeper waters offshore and deep channels in bays to 570 meters. (Source: MarineBio)
